The official youth day marathon was held today afternoon in Kanditheem. This is the Third consecutive year that the Kayli has organized the race to mark the Youth Day.
So far in the event, Mohamed Nimaal of Raiyfusge, Sh. Kanditheem has won the marathon every year. This year's second place was won by Ahmed Siraj (Copey) and Adam Raazy won the third place.
Police cup 2009 has been called off late yesterday. Police cup was supposed to be held during the time of Ramazan.
According to the Secretariat of Kayli, an official from Kanditheem Police Station informed Kayli orally that, due to lack of fund and budget problems that they had decided to call off the tournament.
Kayli and Police Station last year decided to compromise each other by organizing the tournament in alternative years, meaning 2009 is the year for Police. Kayli arranged the Kayli cup last year.
In a meeting held back in June this year, the Kanditheem Police Station's station in charge Mr. Ali Ahmed told the invitees in the meeting that he was hoping the budget could be arranged for the tournament. In that meeting, it was also announced to have the tournament the futsal way.
With the Ramazan a couple of weeks away, this shocking (somehow expected) news would be a great concern for the Youths of Kanditheem.
